A forest-born guardian reimagined from one of my earlier stories and brought to life in 3D.
About the Character
Lythaei comes from a personal worldbuilding project I started years ago. For this assignment, I chose not to reuse her old drawings but to redesign her from scratch and explore who she could become visually. I wanted her to feel friendly and magical without falling into the typical dark assassin look that female characters often get.
In her story, she is the keeper of Atriahlensia, the Tree of Life. I tried to let that heritage show subtly in her appearance through her shapes, colours and overall presence.
What I Did
I designed and modelled Lythaei in Blender using hard surface modelling techniques. I focused on clean topology so she could be rigged and animated smoothly. I also created sketches and a moodboard before modelling to keep her style consistent and readable.
I made a few simple animations for her, such as an idle, a jump and a walk cycle. These were fun to work on and made the character feel alive.
Tools Used
Blender (models, textures, rigging, animation)
Adobe Photoshop (sketches)
Design Highlights
Redesigned Lythaei from the ground up based on an older personal character.
Used hard surface modelling in Blender to create clean topology suitable for animation.
Focused on a bright, welcoming design instead of the typical stealth-based female character style.
Created sketches and a moodboard to guide the final look.
Made a small set of simple animations to bring her personality forward.
